Starting or Joining a Zoom meeting with the Desktop Zoom App
Objective:
- This tutorial is designed to help users start, join, and invite people to Zoom meetings using the Zoom desktop app.
To start a meeting:
- If you don't see the screen below, click "Home".
- Click "New Meeting:
To Invite people to an ongoing meeting
- Click the up arrow on the "Participants" tab
- Click "Invite"
For Lyon employees and Students:

Click "Contacts" and type the name or e-mail address of the person that you wish to invite
For Non-Lyon accounts:
- Click "Email"
- Click the Gmail icon, and you will be prompted to sign in with your Lyon credentials.
To join someone else's meeting:
- Click Join in the Zoom App
- Enter the meeting ID and click join. This can usually be found in the invitation email that you received.
